The Algarve

The Algarve, the name comes from the Arabian «Al Gharb» which means -the West- is a 150 km long and 50 km bride stripe of coastline. Its Arabian influences from the past can still be seen in architectures and Village-names for instance "Albufeira", "Alvor" or "Almancil", or in the traditional blue and white painting of the houses which you can find as well in Tunisia.

The majority of our Villas and Apartments are situated in the area of Praia do Carvoeiro and Ferragudo.

Some 30 years ago Carvoeiro was a little more than a small one-street fishing village, where everyone knew each other and in many cases also were related to each other.

In the meantime with the influx of tourists and foreign residents as well, it has grown into a very cosmopolitan location with a wide selection of bars, restaurants shops and boutiques.Anyway Carvoeiro has maintained its charm and character and its original architecture is still visible in the smaller , cobbled side streets closed to the beach front. Carvoeiro and its surroundings are the ideal location for a holiday with the whole family
In all our Villas and Apartments you have the opportunity to relax and do very little, apart from sitting by the beach, sunbathing and dining in the evenings.

During the summer months there are live-music and entertainment shows every week on the central beach area in Carvoeiro and Ferragudo. If you want to explore the surroundings , it is an easy drive to Lagoa , or the historical town of Silves with its castle or to Monchique and Caldas de Monchique. There are interesting rock formations to be seen at the Algarvian coastline, one of the most interesting is found directly in Carvoeiro and is called "Algar Seco".
